How to Slove iPhone Camera Issue after Water Damaged

Everyone knows that electricity and water do not mix, and the fact that an iPhone is almost completely sealed makes it that much worse if it is dropped in the water. So water damage—that may just be the scariest two-word phrase known to any iPhone. Sometimes water damdged can cause lots of loss, such as camera. Fortunately, there are ways to fix an iPhone camera. Add in some patience, it will restore to full functionality.

When you come across iPhone water damaged, the first step is get the iPhone out of the water, and dry it off as much as possible. Take out the SIM card, wipe the ports use a cotton swab. Wipe off the outer case and the various buttons. Then turn it off. Finally, you can put it in a silica gel bag to draw out the moisture. If the camera does not function, the best way to resolve the issue is replacing the camera module.

Step 1 Disassembling iPhone

Maybe you need a pentalobe screwdriver, tweezer and pry pieces  to disassemble iPhone. So make sure to have an iPhone repair kit on hand. Take off the battery cover and carefully remove the battery. Be sure to put all screws, because they are interchangeable.


Step 2 Replacing the iPhone Rear Camera

Use a plastic iPod opening tool to pry the battery connector up from its socket on the logic board. Remove the SIM card and its holder. Remove the following two screws. Remove the thin steel dock connector cable cover from the iPhone.

Use an iPod opening tool to gently pry the dock cable connector up off the logic board from both short ends of the connector. Use a plastic opening tool to pry the lower antenna connector up off its socket on the logic board. Remove the following five screws securing the Wi-Fi antenna to the logic board:
One 2.3 mm Phillips
Two 1.6 mm Phillips
One 1.4 mm Phillips
One 4.8 mm Phillips


Use an iPod opening tool to carefully lift the rear camera connector up off its socket on the logic board.

Remove the rear camera.

Step 3 Replacing the iPhone Front Camera

When remove the rear camera, the next step is remove the front camera. Use the edge of a plastic opening tool to gently pry the following connectors up and out of their sockets on the logic board:
Digitizer cable (pry from bottom)
LCD cable (pry from bottom)
Headphone jack/volume button cable (pry from top)
Top Microphone/sleep button cable (pry from top)
Front camera cable (pry from top)



Carefully remove the logic board from the iPhone. Remove the front camera retainer. Use the edge of a plastic opening tool to lift the thin steel front camera retainer off the front camera. Remove the front camera retainer.
