How to repair iPhone 6 fast power consumption and overheating problems?
The customer said that his iPhone 6 would overheat and consume quickly during charging and use. He didn't know what caused the failure. He wants us to fix it. Below are our repair steps.
First, test the iPhone 6. After using the iPhone 6 for a while, it became very hot and the iPhone battery was very fast.
Second, disassemble the iPhone. Use the phone to open the tool to disassemble the iPhone, connect the iPhone to the DC power supply, the iPhone can be turned on, and it will enter the IOS system smoothly. When the iPhone display is off, test it and we find that the working current is stuck at around 250mA, which is not normal.
Continue to test the each functions on iPhone, we found the compass can't be used. Take out the iPhone motherboard, use digital multimeter to measure the diode data of the compass IC power supply. After measuring, we found that PP3V0_IMU this voltage is short-circuited.
Check iPhone 6 schematic diagram via WUXINJI Dongle, we know that there are several filter capacitors on the circuit of the PP3V0_IMU voltage.
For this voltage short-circuited failure, we need to consider the reasons of the iPhone circuit line, so we need to remove those captors that on this circuit line. When the C1902 capacitor was removed, PP3V0_IMU voltage is back to normal.
Now, we confirmed that it's the problem of the C1902 capacitor. Replace the new C1902, and then connect iPhone to the DC power supply to test, when the iPhone display screen is off, the standby current is back to normal.
Install the iPhone, and turn it on, after entering the IOS, test the iPhone compass function, it works properly. After using it for a while, the iPhone is in normal heat and the iPhone battery is consuming at a normal rate.
