How to repair iPhone 6 Plus without sound when making a call?
We received an iPhone 6 Plus. The customer said that his iPhone 6 Plus was making no sound. There is no sound when playing video in headphone mode, and the distance sensor is also invalid when calling.
As the customer said, the phone must be silent in headphone mode, since the sound is all out of the headphone; the telephone distance sensing in headphone mode won't work. The customer replaced the iPhone 6P charging port to exclude the outer parts problem, so we judge it's the motherboard problem.
Now we are going to restart the iPhone to test, it will prompt the headphone mode when adjust the volume button during calling.
This indicates that the phone insertion signal is abnormal and has been recognized as the state of the earphone insertion. When making a phone call, the input and output of the voice are all through the headphones. Generally, the iPhone 6 Plus audio IC U0900 or charging port would cause the trouble.
The headphone insertion signal is plugged into the audio IC through the port. The port insertion has been replaced， then there is only the U0900 audio IC left. As shown in pictures.
Remove the iPhone 6 Plus motherboard and replace U0900 audio IC directly. As shown in picture.
Install to test, it's all normal for playing music, calling, and the sound of receiver, speaker can be heard, the sense of telephone distance is also working now.
This fault is caused by the damage of U0900 audio IC.
